Finally found something that works for my mom whose mobility with BAD knees is highly limited. I received the model with the swivel and lock features (Snap-N-Save 031055D, 37692 Swivel Sliding Transfer Bench X-Long )* The extra length allows for sitting (or being placed) normally outside the tub with ease of moving in or out of the tub using the swivel or not.* The seat is wide. The depth is like a good ledge. 20.5" x 13.75" .Again, the back is optional and easy to add (by a helper) after if needed. This worked for someone who needs a bigger seat.* The overall length and width measuring the feet is 48.5" x 19.75".* The handholds built into either side of the seat are great!* There are velcro straps that an act as a seat belt or handhold if you have to help someone slide slowly or if they can't slide well on their own.* The seat is hard plastic and textured with holes to drain. For long sitting times, delicate skin, or the need to slide to adjust seating a little, I would recommend covering it with a small hand towel or kitchen towel that isn't rough to sit on. That allows skin to move more easily on the seat and not leave impressions.* There is a small hole on either side of the seat that looks like it can be used for a handheld shower.* The minimum height from tub bottom to sitting is 20". It might be possible to get that to 19.25", but it depends on the way the feet have to turn. Practically installed, it's 20". If this is too much, you can find something to put in the tub to put your feet on for proper leg resting positioning depending your the health or height of the user.* It can be put together EASILY and with the pictured handrail on either side. I snapped it together and adjusted as needed in under 10 minutes (no instructions needed)* The seat can be set to lock in place on either end or not depending on which side you install the extension bar with the lock pins on the ends. I learned this by inadvertently doing that first (see last comment re:instruction).* It is lightweight.* For small spaces which are difficult to move in, the back comes off and on easily to allow even easier transport for storage.Some lessons learned:* I would recommend installing to lock the seat into place (easily unlocked to slide) for safety both when bathing and when getting up or down.* The swivel seat sits on a platform that locks. It does not have holes to drain through so water can sit between the seat and that. When finished, turn in on the side in some manner to finish draining dry in the tub.The back doesn't have to be used which was great for our need. It has been used one since receipt. We are VERY happy with it.I'll add some pictures too as I'm the kind of person that needs real world pics, especially when finding stuff like this which costs a lot and usually cannot be returned even it not used....Just as expected. Really pleased!While I much, much prefer the nicer padded shower chairs, I started getting frustrated with how easily the vinyl on them would rip, making them a health risk both in terms of bacterial and mold growth from dirty shower water soaking into the now-exposed foam inside, and the sharpness of the rips possibly cutting into your skin.So, this time around, I figured I'd try for something that'd hopefully last me a bit longer, where the lifespan of the bench wasn't dictated by the weakness of the cushions themselves. After a good deal of research, I ended up grabbing one of these, not really thinking I needed the version with the rotating chair (I didn't).Pros: Easy to put together, adjustable, and comes with a velcro seatbelt, in case you find it necessary.Cons: Even at the lowest height setting, with me being 5'10, my feet still dangle off the floor (albeit not by as much as my old bench did). The slide mechanism, while nice, is far less smooth than I'd have liked once your entire body weight is situated on the seat: this isn't really surprising given that the slide is simply a plastic tube around a metal tube (rather than metal bearings), but for those lacking in upper body strength, please be aware of this. I also do find that the bench creaks and groans in a rather discomforting way when I'm sliding along, most likely coming from the part of the bench where the handle is, which makes me feel that I'll have to do occasional inspections to ensure no stress cracks end up developing in the frame. (For reference, I'm a mere 120lbs).As for the lack of padding, I've simply resorted to cutting up an old padded yoga mat and layering it on top of the seat, which I find works well enough.The chair is a great design easy to assemble and works well, problem for me is that the tub to small for this chair. So it gets the floor really wet.I think if the seat rotated it would be a awesome shower seat. It serves my purpose and I like it alot. It makes showering so easy.This chair is a life saver. When my mom was sick she was very week and having to slide across her old chair just was to much for her. So I purchased this chair. It is Awesome! Don't know why all of the bath chairs aren't made to slide the person over like this one.Very high quality product. Arrived intact and complete. Very easy to assemble no tools needed. The unit all snaps together with spring loaded plunger pins. Swivel seat is also well made and easy to use.Only have one problem that is unique to me. We have an oversized tub with a sidewall of 15" wide which is difficult to step over. I am planning on getting new slide tubes that are longer to compensate for the extra thick sidewall. I'm also a bit over the weight limit but if I see any sagging of the transfer tubes I will insert galvanized steel rods inside. That seems to be the weak point. For a normal tub this is great as is. The ad does not include a swivel seat and I was surprised to see one. A substitution? A model change? Don't know.It is OK, but wish it were more sturdily built. I still keep a close eye on my 81-year-old mother when we give her her shower because it is not as heavy as it should be for its intended purpose, IE extra long. Heavier gauge tubing would really make this a great buy if the manufacturer happens to read this. It does allow my mother, a stroke victim with balance issues, to get her shower, so have to give it four stars.
