This is a re-issue of the original studio album Moving Staircases, by The Escalators. Early press vinyls probably don't sound so great, but the sound quality on this album (I have the CD) is amazing. It really is a hidden musical gem that doesn't stop delivering from The Day The Sun Burned Down to Monday. It's pretty complex as far as garage rock goes and I personally think it's some of the best that Nigel, Mark, Woodie, and Bart put together. Others might disagree, as well as the band themselves, but this is still my favorite album after almost ten years of hearing it over and over. The album art is pretty great but there isn't a full complement; i.e. there isn't as much information as I would hope. Namely, there are no lyrics, which sort of bums me as a Yank who sometimes finds it difficult to understand these Brits. Still, there isn't a lot to complain about. Even if you're just into alternative rock, I highly recommend this album.
